Jeffrey DeShell was born in the town of government publications, Pueblo, CO, in 1959. He is the author of eight novels, , and a critical book on Poe’s Fiction, and  has co-edited two collections of fiction by American women.  He was a Fulbright Teaching Fellow in Budapest, and has taught in Northern Cyprus, the American Midwest and the Milton Avery Graduate School for the Arts at Bard College.  He is currently a Professor  at the University of Colorado at Boulder.  He is married to the novelist Elisabeth Sheffield, and lives in Boulder and Cooperstown NY with Elisabeth, two sons, two cats and a shiba inu.
